01 / The tour

All the best,
in a single
day.

The Gems Tour is Cappadocia's greatest hits, hand-picked into one unforgettable full day. It brings together the highlights of the classic Red and Green tours — the panoramic viewpoints, the highest castle, a deep underground city and the most extraordinary fairy-chimney valleys — so clients with only one day still experience the very best of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape, all with a Ministry-licensed local guide and door-to-door hotel pick-up.

Built for the travel trade, the tour is completely flexible. Resell it exactly as it is, add a dawn balloon flight, or have us tailor the stops, pace, inclusions and guiding language to your client — private or seat-in-coach. It is delivered under your brand, with confidential net rates on request and no public pricing.

02 / The route

Eight gems,
one day.

A carefully paced loop through Cappadocia's finest viewpoints, valleys, underground wonders and workshops.

01

Göreme Panorama

The tour opens at the Göreme Panorama, a sweeping viewpoint over the town of Göreme and the surreal valleys that surround it. From here the full drama of the Cappadocian landscape reveals itself — a sea of fairy chimneys, cave dwellings and rose-hued rock — making it the perfect orientation point and one of the region's most photographed vistas.

02

Uçhisar Castle

Uçhisar Castle is the highest point in Cappadocia — a towering natural rock citadel honeycombed with tunnels, chambers and dovecotes carved over centuries. From its summit the whole fairy-tale landscape unfolds: the volcanic valleys, the town of Göreme and, on a clear day, the snow-capped peak of Mount Erciyes.

03

Kaymaklı Underground City

Descend into the Kaymaklı Underground City, one of the largest and deepest of Cappadocia's subterranean cities. Carved level upon level into the soft rock — with stables, kitchens, wine cellars, chapels and ventilation shafts — it once sheltered thousands of early Christians from invaders, sealed off with great rolling stone doors. Exploring its narrow tunnels is one of the most extraordinary experiences in the region.

Entrance optional
04

Pigeon Valley

Pigeon Valley takes its name from the thousands of dovecotes carved into its soft cliffs, where locals kept pigeons for centuries and gathered their droppings as precious fertiliser for the vineyards and orchards. A gentle path traces the valley between Uçhisar and Göreme, past a famous evil-eye tree, offering some of the loveliest and most peaceful views in Cappadocia.

05

Avanos (Pottery Demonstration)

Set on the banks of the Kızılırmak — the Red River — the town of Avanos has been a centre of pottery-making since Hittite times, using the river's distinctive red clay. At a traditional workshop your clients watch a master potter shape clay on a kick-wheel, learn about a craft passed down through generations, and can even try the wheel themselves.

06

Imagination Valley (Devrent)

Also known as Devrent Valley, Imagination Valley is a surreal, lunar landscape of whimsical rock formations that seem to take the shape of animals and figures — a camel, a snake, seals and more — depending on the light and your imagination. With no churches or dwellings, it is pure natural sculpture, and one of the most playful stops on the tour.

07

Paşabağ (Monks Valley)

Paşabağ, or Monks Valley, is famous for its extraordinary multi-capped fairy chimneys — cone-shaped pillars crowned with two or three "hats" of harder rock, among the most unusual formations in all of Cappadocia. Early Christian hermits once carved cells and a chapel into these towers, including one dedicated to St. Simeon, giving the valley its name.

08

Carpet Atelier

The day ends at a traditional carpet atelier, where your clients discover the artistry behind Turkish carpets and kilims. A demonstration reveals how silk is drawn from cocoons, how wool and silk are dyed with natural colours, and how weavers tie the famous double knots by hand — a centuries-old craft, with the chance to admire and, if they wish, purchase these handmade works of art.

05 / FAQ

Good to
know.

What is the Gems Tour, and how is it different from the Red and Green tours?

The Gems Tour is a curated best-of that combines the top highlights of both the Red (north) and Green (south) tours into a single day — panoramas, Uçhisar Castle, an underground city and the finest valleys. It's ideal for clients with only one day in Cappadocia; those with more time can do the full Red and Green tours instead.

Is the Gems Tour private or group?

Both. It can be operated fully private for your client or as a seat-in-coach group departure, chosen per booking and delivered under your brand.

Is the underground city difficult to visit?

The Kaymaklı Underground City involves narrow, low and sometimes steep passages. Most visitors manage it comfortably, but it is not ideal for those with claustrophobia or limited mobility — we can adjust the itinerary on request.

Is lunch included, and what about entrance fees?

Lunch at a local restaurant is included, along with the guide and transport. Entrance fees, such as the Kaymaklı Underground City, are quoted separately and can be built into your net rate on request.

How do agencies get rates?

Become a partner and send us your brief with dates, group size and service level, and we reply with a costed, ready-to-sell proposal on confidential net rates — with no public pricing.
